To Export or Not-That is the Question?

5/3/2020

I knew I was not going completely mad, just partly. I want to thank @Fred Beckhusen sincerely for giving us control over our worlds. I never realized just how much control I had lost until I created my own DreamGrid.
For years I was told that export permissions box was grayed out because it was a "bug" in opensim. I found that to be odd, and could not wrap my head around the reason so I would continue loading content into the world and market.
When it came time to leave this grid, I could not export anything from inventory to my new grid con.tin.u.um I could only export items that were listed as export in the market, again I found this odd. Tried every single way you can imagine to try to get my very own full permission created solely by me-still I could not export my very own creations unless they were first marked export and placed in market.
So once settled into my new DreamGrid, I began filling my free store with items I found at the free resource sites and checking permissions to make sure others could export out the free items I see that export does in fact work, it is not grayed out in a grid where I have control over the settings, who woulda thunk it?

Bending the Rules...

5/2/2020

As most of you know I opened a store at the Kitely marketplace last year and for over a year I uploaded content to the Kitely grid.  In the course of that time I also picked up items around the metaverse from Outworldz and Lani mall, one being the Paramour Dance Machine by Aine Caoimhe at that time of Refuge grid.

Most everyone at Kitely has this dance machine so I rezzed and used it like everyone else.  I did not realize there was an issue with this dance machine until Ilan threatened to ban me for just having it at my region because of the Creative Commons Share Alike 4.0 License it had.  Items using this license is not allowed at Kitely grid, at least that is what I am told by Ilan.

I found this out after I created the Blue Mind interactive ocean at my Sierra Sonnet region in Kitely.  When I presented the license to Ilan showing what the content was licensed as, Creative Commons Share Alike 4.0, that is when he told me it all had to be removed from my inventory or be banned.  This  made no sense to me since everyone else at grid had this very same dance machine, even Ilan himself.

I am pointing this out because I had invested in over a year and uploaded most of my jewelry to the Kitely grid, then after a year I am told to remove items everyone has or be banned.  I feel this harsh stance especially since Ilan himself has this very same dance machine.

I decided to create a DreamGrid by Fred Beckhusen called con.tin.u.um and put my content there; only this time making it free.    I will also be working on the Blue Mind project at the CurledSun beach at Bastion region at con.tin.u.um.

What hurt me the most about all this is the effort, time and expense it took to establish myself at Kitely, a year wasted all because Ilan failed to spell out his  rules/stance on Share Alike 4.0 in his TOS because had I known about his stance prior to establishing a Kitely store, I never would have.
